Day at Sarah’s cottage

Day at Sarah’s cottage

I have to say, posting those bathing suit shots has been paying off. Finally sunshine! Last weekend was action packed and amazing. I got an invitation to spend a day at a friend’s cottage at a gorgeous lake in Ontario.

That kind of an invitation is very hard to resist. The drive was long and tiresome as always, but then we were rewarded with a beautiful sunny day!

Eggs for breakfast, walk through the country side, liquor store run, sauna, the lakex3, sunbathing, fresh fish, amazing dinner and a bonfire on the beach. The Sunset was divine, the mosquitoes were biting, ah the romance of Canadian wilderness.

I am still itchy, but look at the beautiful photos I was able to get. Cottage like that is hard to find these days, facing west it is absolutely amazing in the late afternoon. It’s an old Sears catalog cottage with a lot of charm.

And the baby boy! He is my new favorite best friend!

The day was so Sun soaked I had to deviate from the traditional coolness I like in my imagery. What more, I felt like making it look a little like a home movie from a few decades ago. In those days the color technology in film was not as developed as it is now and color shifts were nothing unexpected. If you add the time factor with which photographs and home made movies start to deteriorate, you end up with something familiar. It feels like memories, like a part of your childhood, like you are watching a movie from when your parents were really young and you were not born yet. But somehow you feel like you were there too. Everything seemed more romantic and happy then. It’s your happy place in washed out technicolor.
The whole day was like a dream and I wanted to capture it’s essence. You can see the full story on my website. I hope you enjoy it!
