Superman Day

After the few months of me writing this blog, I think it is becoming pretty clear that I love dressing up, costumes, fashion, but most of all fun! Couple of months ago, I was doing research (code word for slacking off) when I discovered a neat little poster for Superman day. It was released in 1940 to promote then still an unknown new comic book Superman. With a visit by Superman himself in lace up boots and a logo on his chest with the word Superman spelled out in it as well as various sporting competitions. I thought, wouldn’t it be fun to make that happen again? In the Summer, so that we can all stay warm while having fun!
The Promise boys that throw some of the best parties in Toronto have agreed to host the Superman day at the Cherry beach on August 9th and hopefully we can make it a yearly event. It will be a completely non-commercial fun, a bit of a bush party with electronic music and relaxing on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Everyone is welcome to come and dress up in any real or made up superhero or supervillain costume, dance on the beach or just chill out on a blanket, bring their dog and dress him or her up in a cape too! It will be a day all kids, little or fully grown will enjoy. There is never enough opportunities to put on a costume and have a good time. So get kids have been dying to wear their Spider-man pajamas in the public!
I will be sure to be there with my camera to document the fun and hopefully we can live up to the stylishness of the Silver Snail comic book fans like these!
